Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 3, 2025
Introduction
Welcome to AppVerge. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines in detail how we collect, use, store, and protect information about you when you interact with our applications (like DockFix and SnappyNotes), our website (https://www.appverge.net), and related services. We strive to maintain a balance between transparency and technical accuracy — giving you full insight into how your information is handled, while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
By using our apps or accessing our website, you agree to the terms laid out in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services. We recommend reviewing this page regularly, as it may be updated to reflect new practices or legal requirements.
1. Information We Collect
AppVerge designs apps with privacy as a core value. We deliberately avoid collecting unnecessary data and refrain from using invasive tracking technologies. The information we do collect is either essential to providing the core functionality of our apps or used in an anonymous form to help us improve your experience.
In general, the data we may collect includes user-provided information (such as your name and email if you purchase a license or contact support), device metadata (in rare support cases), and aggregate, anonymous data collected through privacy-focused analytics tools. No persistent user tracking is implemented in our native apps.
2. App Data Storage and Usage
The majority of user data created or managed within our applications — such as notes, settings, themes, or interface preferences — remains stored locally on your device. This means we cannot access it, nor do we upload or sync it to any servers under our control unless explicitly requested (e.g., cloud sync via iCloud).
For example, if you use SnappyNotes, your notes are saved securely on your device unless you explicitly opt into CloudKit sync. Similarly, DockFix stores Dock settings locally and does not send them to AppVerge. Deleting the app usually results in deletion of this data, subject to operating system behavior. We do not and cannot access this locally stored data remotely.
3. Website Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to collect anonymous usage data from visitors to our website. This data includes high-level, non-personally identifiable information such as total page views, device types, and countries of access. No cookies are set, no IP addresses are stored, and no personally identifiable information is tracked.
These insights help us understand what pages or features are most helpful so we can improve the experience of our site. We do not use Google Analytics or other tools that rely on fingerprinting or personal tracking. Our commitment is to privacy-first design, even in analytics.
4. Payment Processing and Purchases
All payments for AppVerge products are processed securely through trusted platforms: Apple (via the App Store) and Stripe (via our website). When you purchase through the App Store, Apple handles the transaction entirely, and we do not have access to your payment method, billing address, or other sensitive details. Apple only shares basic information about the transaction, such as confirmation of purchase and general region.
When you purchase directly through our website, Stripe collects your name, email address, and payment information on our behalf. We never see your full payment card details. Stripe only provides us with the necessary data to create and maintain your license — typically name, email, purchase ID, and timestamp. All Stripe payments are subject to Stripe’s own privacy and security policies.
AppVerge does not offer refunds for software purchases, as every app includes a free trial period or demo functionality to help you evaluate the product before committing. If you encounter any issues, we encourage you to contact us at support@appverge.net, and we’ll do our best to resolve the issue.
5. Third-Party Services
AppVerge may use certain third-party services to provide functionality and improve our applications. These include Apple Services for features such as iCloud sync, Stripe for payment processing, and Cloudflare for anonymous analytics and content delivery. When you enable features like iCloud sync, your data is transmitted directly to and stored by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud account or its contents. Similarly, when making a purchase through our website, payment information is sent to Stripe, which handles the transaction according to its own security standards and privacy policy. We have carefully vetted these providers to ensure they adhere to strong privacy and security practices, and we encourage you to review their policies directly.
6. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. For locally stored app data—such as notes in SnappyNotes or Dock settings in DockFix—this information remains on your device and is generally removed when the app is uninstalled, subject to your operating system’s behavior. We do not keep backups of your local data unless you explicitly choose a cloud backup or sync feature. For purchase records and license information, we retain your email address and transaction details to verify your license, provide access to updates, and offer support. You can request deletion of your license data at any time by contacting us, and we will remove it in accordance with applicable laws.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you have certain rights regarding your personal data. These may include the right to access the information we hold about you, correct any inaccuracies, request deletion of your data, or restrict processing of your personal information. To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@appverge.net with your request and relevant details. We will verify your identity before fulfilling any request. We strive to respond to data requests within 30 days, or sooner if required by local laws. If we are unable to comply with your request, we will explain the reasons and inform you of any applicable exceptions.
You may also unsubscribe from any marketing or update emails by following the unsubscribe link contained within those messages. Please note that unsubscribing from our mailing list does not revoke our right to send you transactional or service-related messages, such as license confirmations or critical security updates.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable physical, technical, and administrative measures to protect the information we collect. All data transmitted between your device and our website is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS to prevent unauthorized access during transit. We do not store sensitive data such as full payment card details on our servers. Instead, payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant third-party processors. Internally, access to any licensed data or support emails is restricted to the founder and authorized personnel only. While we strive to safeguard your data, no security measure is perfect. In the event of a data breach, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete that information as soon as possible. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take steps to remove such data.
10. International Users
AppVerge is based in Denmark. When you use our Services from outside the European Economic Area (EEA), your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in Denmark. By providing your personal data, you consent to such transfer, storage, and processing. We take steps to ensure that any transfer of your personal data complies with applicable data protection laws, such as using appropriate safeguards when transferring data from the European Union to countries that may not have equivalent data protection standards.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or new features. Whenever we make significant changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy. For minor changes, we may not provide direct notice other than updating this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
